Didn’t have my phone on me while walking around during our last night in Amsterdam. So, here’s a recap.
We went to Albert Heijn, the grocery store chain, while I spent too long looking for "chowkolatte" and "kauwfi" as gifts and in my epic European search of non-dairy creamer and Arion noted that they had an entire aisle dedicated to "s-o-w-c-e".
Then to De Laatste Kruimel (The Last Crumb – http://www.yelp.com/biz/de-laatste-kruimel-amsterdam), a badass bakery in Rembrandt Square, where I ordered traditional Dutch Apple pie and Arion the bread pudding made of chocolate croissant/french toast/gelatin/berries and a savory bread pudding with meat and cheese.
Then the bar Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn (http://www.yelp.com/biz/kitchen-en-bar-van-rijn-amsterdam#query:Kitchen%20%26%20Bar%20Van%20Rijn), which I wanted to go to because it had TV screens only for showing Rembrandt portraits, where we ordered a Dutch Martini and a Kasteel Donker beer, plus pommes frites (with mayo) and sliced, cold sausages with pickled onions and pickled onion mustard of sorts.
Then, back to Hotel Casa 400 with lots of leftovers!
